New Delhi, 23 February 2026

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in a public event held at Namo Ground, Khajuri Chowk, in the North-East Delhi parliamentary constituency on Monday to mark the completion of one year of the Delhi Government. Addressing a large gathering, the Chief Minister described the past 365 days as a year defined by “public trust, commitment to service, and the results of good governance.”

Speaking on the occasion, Gupta stated that the slogan “First Step of Change, One Year of Development” was not merely a political message but a reflection of the tangible progress witnessed across the capital. She emphasized that the government’s efforts over the past year have focused on establishing transparent administration, strengthening governance mechanisms, accelerating infrastructure development, expanding digital governance, and implementing citizen-centric welfare initiatives.

“The completion of one year represents more than a milestone,” Gupta said. “It symbolizes a period during which governance reforms were translated into visible outcomes for citizens. The government has worked with the objective of ensuring efficiency, accountability, and accessibility in public service delivery.”

Highlighting the administration’s priorities, the Chief Minister underscored the emphasis placed on transparency and corruption-free governance. She noted that systemic improvements and digital integration have contributed to streamlining processes and enhancing service efficiency. According to Gupta, the adoption of digital governance practices has reduced procedural delays while improving citizen engagement with government services.

Gupta further stated that infrastructure development has remained a key pillar of the government’s agenda. Over the past year, she said, the administration has sought to accelerate projects aimed at improving urban mobility, strengthening civic amenities, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. She described the year as one that provided Delhi with “new momentum, a renewed direction, and a stronger sense of confidence.”

“The government’s approach has been rooted in inclusive development,” Gupta said. “Policies and programmes have been designed to address the needs of every section of society, including economically weaker groups, workers, women, youth, and the middle class.”

Referring to the broader governance philosophy guiding the administration, Gupta stated that the government has drawn inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.” She said that the Delhi Government has sought to establish a governance model aligned with these principles, focusing on equitable growth, institutional efficiency, and citizen welfare.

“The guiding principle has been to ensure that development reaches every individual,” Gupta remarked. “The coming years will be dedicated to further accelerating the pace of progress, expanding world-class facilities, and ensuring that government initiatives benefit every resident.”

The Chief Minister observed that the enthusiastic response from citizens at the event reflected continued public confidence in the government’s policies and direction. She said the turnout and engagement demonstrated that residents are actively participating in the city’s developmental journey.

Gupta reiterated that the government considers itself accountable to the people and remains committed to working as a “public servant.” She emphasized that sustained development, responsive governance, and social welfare would continue to drive policy decisions.

“The trust of the people remains the government’s greatest strength,” Gupta said. “With this confidence, the administration will continue its efforts toward building a developed and modern Delhi.”

Expressing gratitude, Gupta thanked party workers, community representatives, and citizens for their support over the past year. She stated that collaborative participation between the government and the public is essential for achieving long-term developmental objectives.

The event was attended by several senior leaders and public representatives, including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Members of Parliament Manoj Tiwari and Yogendra Chandolia, Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, and MLA Ajay Mahawar, among other elected representatives and dignitaries.

Throughout her address, Gupta framed the government’s first year as a foundation-building phase focused on structural reforms and developmental acceleration. She stated that policy measures implemented during this period are expected to generate sustained benefits for the capital’s residents.

“The past year has laid a strong foundation,” Gupta concluded. “The government remains committed to advancing this trajectory, ensuring that Delhi continues to move toward a modern, efficient, and citizen-focused development model.”

The one-year anniversary programme forms part of a series of public outreach initiatives aimed at highlighting governance outcomes and engaging citizens in discussions on future priorities.
