11 March 2026, Gautam Buddh Nagar
A Farmers’ Day program will be organized on March 18, 2026 at 11:00 am in the auditorium of Vikas Bhavan to discuss agricultural issues and provide farmers with information about modern farming practices. Deputy Director of Agriculture Rajiv Kumar informed that Farmers’ Day is organized on the third Wednesday of every month near the district headquarters. The objective of the program is to provide a platform where farmers can present their agricultural concerns and receive guidance from officials and experts. The event also aims to inform farmers about new agricultural technologies, improved farming techniques and government schemes so that they can increase productivity and improve their income. Farmers’ Day also strengthens communication between farmers and the administration, enabling quicker solutions to field level issues.
Platform for Farmers to Discuss Agricultural Issues
During the meeting farmers will have the opportunity to present issues related to their farms and villages directly before officials. Officers from several departments will attend the event and provide guidance on irrigation, seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, farm machinery and agricultural credit. Officials stated that the concerns raised by farmers will be addressed on priority and instructions will be issued to the concerned departments for their resolution. The program also helps farmers interact with experts and gain knowledge about modern agricultural practices. By adopting improved technologies and scientific farming methods farmers can increase crop productivity and improve overall agricultural output.
Information on New Agricultural Technologies
The meeting will be chaired by the District Magistrate. During the program farmers will be informed about new technologies and improved agricultural practices being implemented in the district. Officials will also encourage farmers to use fertilizers according to the recommendations provided in their Soil Health Cards. Soil Health Cards provide farmers with detailed information about the nutrient content of their soil which helps them apply balanced fertilizers. Proper fertilizer management improves crop yield, maintains soil fertility and reduces farming costs. Officials emphasized that scientific agriculture also contributes to environmental sustainability and long term soil health.
Participation of Agricultural Departments and Experts
Several departments related to agriculture will participate in the Farmers’ Day meeting including irrigation, energy and agriculture departments along with horticulture, cooperatives, fisheries, dairy development and animal husbandry. Scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, representatives from insurance companies and the lead bank manager will also attend the program. Experts will guide farmers on crop production, agricultural finance, crop insurance, livestock management and other income generating activities related to farming. Farmers will also receive information about government schemes and the process of availing their benefits. The Deputy Director of Agriculture has appealed to farmers across the district to participate in large numbers and raise their concerns during the meeting.
