District Magistrate Medha Rupam convened a detailed meeting with political parties at the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) office to discuss the upcoming “Special Mega Campaign Day” scheduled for 29 November. The initiative aims to facilitate voter registration, name additions, and corrections in the electoral rolls across every polling booth in the district. During the meeting, the DM emphasized the critical role of political parties in assisting citizens to ensure maximum voter inclusion and highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts at the booth level.
The discussion focused on streamlining the voter verification process, tracking forms for additions or modifications, and ensuring that all eligible voters are accounted for in the final electoral rolls. Medha Rupam stressed that with only a limited number of days remaining for the Special Intensive Revision campaign, the administration is operating with utmost seriousness to complete the process efficiently. Political party representatives were requested to ensure that their booth-level agents remain present at designated booths to fully support Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in conducting the voter verification and registration activities. The DM reiterated that the administration’s objective is to leave no eligible voter unregistered, underlining the importance of accurate and complete electoral records.
Ensuring Comprehensive Voter Coverage Through Political Participation
The DM highlighted that in some areas of the district, a significant number of voters are registered in the electoral rolls, but their current addresses are not updated with the BLOs, causing discrepancies in verification. In these locations, the involvement of political party representatives and their booth-level agents is crucial to ensure proper tracking and assistance. The Special Mega Campaign Day will serve as a district-wide effort to bridge such gaps and enable citizens to submit any pending forms or corrections effectively.
Medha Rupam appealed directly to the residents to actively participate in the campaign. Citizens who have not yet received their forms, or who have not been able to submit them, were urged to contact their designated BLOs immediately to complete the process. This will ensure that their names are accurately reflected in the voter list before the finalization of the electoral rolls. The DM emphasized that the cooperation of both political parties and residents is essential to achieve the goal of full voter inclusion and maintain transparency in the electoral process.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) Atul Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jewar Abhay Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Ashutosh Gupta, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dadri Anuj Nehra, and Deputy Collector Ved Prakash Pandey, alongside representatives from all major political parties in the district. Discussions also reviewed the progress of receiving verification forms, ongoing voter search operations, and data consolidation to ensure that administrative and political coordination is optimized for the 29 November campaign.
By combining administrative rigor with active political participation, the district administration aims to make the Special Mega Campaign Day a success, ensuring no eligible voter is left unregistered. This coordinated approach not only strengthens voter engagement but also reinforces public trust in the electoral process, laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and accurate voter list across the district.
