Bhopal, August 26 : Sunday, August 27, is going to be a very interesting day for those interested in astronomy. On this day, the Earth will reach between the Sun and Saturn, and Saturn will be near you. This astronomical event is going to happen in about a year. This information was given by Bhopal’s National Award-winning science broadcaster, Sarika Gharu, on Saturday.

Giving scientific information about this phenomenon of astronomy, she said that the earth will reach between the Sun and Saturn on Sunday while orbiting on its axis. In this way, Saturn, Earth, and the Sun will all remain in a straight line. At this time, Saturn will be closest to the Earth, due to which it will feel much brighter.

Sarika told that according to Indian time, Saturn will reach directly on Sunday at 1.50 pm, but its appearance will start in the east direction after the evening sunset. Saturn will be seen travelling in the sky throughout the night and will set in the west before sunrise in the morning. If you have a telescope and the clouds don’t obstruct it, you can see it shining with a ring. Without a telescope, it would look like a medium star, and its rings would not be visible to the naked eye.

She said that at the time of opposition, the distance of Saturn from the earth will be about 131 crore nine lakh kilometers. It would take about 73 minutes to reach you. Its rings will be inclined at an angle of 8.1 degrees. She told me that since the distance of Saturn from the Sun is about nine and a half times more than the distance of the Earth from the Sun, there is no miraculous difference in this phenomenon of Saturn’s opposition, as is being told in social media. The astronomical event that will happen in about a year will happen on September 8, 2024.
