Admissions for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2025-26 academic session have begun across four universities. This four-year programme, designed for students aspiring to join the teaching profession, will be offered by Delhi University (DU), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Dr BR Ambedkar University (AUD), and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU). The course integrates undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.
Admission Process and Entrance Exam
Admissions to ITEP will be based on the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), scheduled for April 29. Candidates can apply online at nta.ac.in and exams.nta.ac.in/NCET until March 16, 11:30 PM. The programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) and aims to enhance teacher education.
Expansion of ITEP in Delhi University
Introduced at two DU colleges in 2023, the programme was extended last year to another college and the Department of Education. For the 2025-26 session, ITEP will be available at Mata Sundri College, Jesus and Mary College, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, and the Education Department.
ITEP Seats Across Universities
Delhi University (DU): 250 seats in total.
IGNOU: 300 seats across BA-BEd (Secondary), BSc-BEd (Secondary), and BCom-BEd (Secondary).
Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD): Offering BA-BEd (Preparatory) and BA-BEd (Secondary) programmes.
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU): 50 seats for BA-BEd (Secondary).
ITEP will be conducted across 64 selected central and state universities and colleges nationwide, expanding opportunities for aspiring educators.
