Amid celebrations across India following the Men in Blue’s thrilling victory over Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup in New York, a witty tweet by Delhi Police has gone viral on social media. The post, which tagged the New York Police Department (NYPD), quickly garnered widespread attention.

In the early hours of Monday, June 10, Delhi Police tweeted: “We heard two loud noises. One is ‘Indiaaa…India!’, and another is probably of broken televisions. Can you please confirm?” Within hours, the tweet had been liked by over 30,000 users and retweeted more than 5,500 times, amassing over 500,000 views.

The humorous nature of the tweet sparked an outpouring of laughter and engagement, with many users responding with memes and witty comments in the thread.

This tweet followed an earlier post by Delhi Police, wishing Team India good luck ahead of the match. “Dear NYPDnews, just to tip you off: An interesting, delightful fight is expected at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium today. Good luck to Team India,” read the pre-match tweet.

The match itself was a nail-biter, with Indian bowlers delivering a stellar performance to help defend a modest total of 119 runs. Pakistan managed to score 113/7 in 20 overs, resulting in another defeat in front of a packed crowd of 34,000 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya were instrumental in India’s victory, combining for five wickets while conceding only 38 runs in their 8 overs.

The viral tweet by Delhi Police added a humorous twist to the high-stakes clash, reflecting the joyous mood of Indian cricket fans following the win.
