Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed students and young leaders at the closing ceremony of the national event “Vikasit Bharat ka Sankalp aur Yuva”, organized by Hansraj College at Vigyan Bhawan on the occasion of National Youth Day. The event, attended by Union Minister for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh, former Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and other dignitaries, focused on the role of youth in shaping a developed India.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Gupta extended greetings on National Youth Day as well as Lohri and Makar Sankranti. She reflected on her personal connection with Delhi University and her own student union experience, noting that interacting with students and youth leaders was both inspiring and emotionally significant for her. She emphasized that college and university life is a formative period where confidence, knowledge, friendships, and leadership skills are built, forming the foundation for future success.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, the Chief Minister urged young people to draw strength from India’s cultural heritage while embracing global challenges with self-assurance. She highlighted the pivotal role of youth in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, stressing that youth are not just the future but also the present driving force of the nation.
CM Gupta advised students to use technology as a tool and ensure it does not dominate their lives. Highlighting the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the digital era, she stressed that young leaders must control technology, not be controlled by it.
She encouraged students to lead India with confidence, innovation, and energy, emphasizing that true national progress requires a balance between development and cultural heritage. “When growth and legacy go hand in hand, India can truly emerge as a global leader,” she said.
The Chief Minister’s address focused on motivating young minds to embrace responsibility, foster leadership skills, and contribute actively to India’s development. She highlighted that student life provides a unique opportunity to cultivate resilience, creativity, and strategic thinking, which are essential for the country’s growth and global standing.
