The Chhattisgarh government has taken a significant step towards enhancing the academic assessment process by deciding to conduct state board exams for Classes 10 and 12 twice within the same academic session. This decision, announced by the school education department in the state, aims to provide students with greater flexibility and opportunities for academic improvement.
While the exact academic year for the implementation of the biannual board exams has not been finalized yet, the education department has outlined the plan to hold the first phase of final board examinations in March, followed by a second phase in July. This move is expected to bring about several benefits for students across the state.
According to Vijay Kumar Goyal, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), a decision regarding the academic session will be made in the coming days, providing clarity to students and educators alike.
One of the key advantages of the biannual board exams is that students who participate in the first phase will have the opportunity to appear in the second round without changing their subjects. This flexibility allows students to strive for better grades and academic performance over multiple attempts.
Furthermore, the second phase of exams will cater to students who wish to improve their grades obtained in the first phase. Candidates who may have faced challenges or received supplementary results in the initial phase will have the chance to redeem themselves by appearing in the second phase upon filling a separate examination form.
The decision to introduce biannual board exams in Chhattisgarh aligns with the broader educational reforms initiated by the central government.
