Varanasi, 09 Sept (HS): On Friday, panic prevailed at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport after an airport officer received a bomb threat call. The caller, Ashok, threatened to blow up the airport and modify its map by the evening. Following the warning, CISF officials began a comprehensive search of the airport’s every nook and cranny. The Airport Authority also filed a formal complaint with the nearby police station. The call was traced back to Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, and the perpetrator was apprehended. According to authorities, the accused is mentally ill. Ashok Prajapati, 25, was named as the accused. He was arrested under Section 503 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to Ashok’s family, he has been undergoing therapy from a psychiatrist in Varanasi since April, according to Deepak Kumar Ranawat, incharge of the Phulpur police station.
