Karnataka’s former chief minister and BJP leader, BS Yediyurappa, is scheduled to appear before the criminal investigation department (CID) at 11 am today for inquiry regarding the pocso case registered against him.
The Karnataka high court recently restrained CID from arresting BS Yediyurappa in connection with the pocso case and mandated his appearance on June 17.
BS Yediyurappa, upon his return to the state on Sunday, stated that those “indulging in conspiracies” against him would face consequences.
Earlier, a Bengaluru court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in the pocso case, accusing him of molesting a minor girl. The former chief minister faces charges under the Pocso act and ipc section 354a (sexual harassment), following a complaint filed by the mother of a 17-year-old girl. The complaint alleged that BS Yediyurappa attempted to molest her daughter on february 2 this year, during their visit to his residence seeking assistance in a cheating case.
BS Yediyurappa vehemently denied the allegations, dismissing them as “baseless,” and pledged to contest them legally in court.
Tragically, the mother of the victim who filed the case against BS Yediyurappa passed away last month due to lung cancer.
