American actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck has recently acquired a new $20 million house in Los Angeles, according to a report in People Magazine. The five-bedroom property, which closed escrow on Saturday, July 26, features six bathrooms, breakfast and dining areas, a separate family room, a den, walk-in closets, a media room, a powder room, and a guest house.
Ben Affleck, 51, and his wife Jennifer Lopez, 54, had listed their Beverly Hills property for $68 million earlier in July, amid rumors of their separation. The couple had originally purchased the Beverly Hills estate for $60,850,000 in May 2023.
Speculation about their separation intensified after Jennifer Lopez attended the 2024 Met Gala alone. However, Ben Affleck’s representative informed E! News that the actor was unable to attend the event due to filming commitments for “The Accountant 2” in Los Angeles.
The news regarding Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s living arrangements comes ahead of their second wedding anniversary. Reports from several US outlets on May 16 indicated that Ben Affleck was residing alone at his Brentwood home. Entertainment Tonight suggested that “they have been staying in separate homes and the tension has been high. They are taking a second to figure out what each of them is going through and wants. Both of them have been very down.”
Another source mentioned that the couple has experienced “ups and downs.” “They’re not always on the same page. They both have so much going on between taking care of their families and their work commitments, and it can be a lot for them,” the source explained.
