The Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to a lawyer involved in a suspected love triangle that escalated into an attempted murder incident in Pune on May 28. The lawyer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was accused in the case alongside a 41-year-old man, Sushil Kale, who was arrested by the Pimpri Police.
The incident unfolded when Kale, reportedly in an inebriated state, allegedly attempted to mow down Nilesh Shinde, a 30-year-old transport business owner. Shinde had gone to meet the woman lawyer when Kale intervened and instigated a confrontation that led to the violent incident.
Justice Manish Pitale of the Bombay High Court noted during the proceedings that the lawyer and Shinde were allegedly in a relationship and had met on the day of the incident. After their meeting, the lawyer departed in her car while Shinde left on his scooter. It was at this point that Kale arrived in his SUV and allegedly rammed into Shinde’s scooter, causing him injuries. Kale is further accused of attempting to run over Shinde, resulting in charges under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder.
However, Justice Pitale emphasized that the lawyer was not driving the vehicle involved in hitting Shinde’s scooter nor was she accused of attempting to run him over. The allegation against her was related to allegedly calling Kale to the scene.
In light of these circumstances, the Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to the lawyer with certain conditions. The primary condition stipulates that the lawyer must cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation. Additionally, she has been directed to appear before the Pimpri Police on July 7 and whenever summoned for further inquiries.
The case has attracted significant attention due to its complex nature involving personal relationships and alleged criminal acts. The lawyer’s bail has sparked discussions on legal responsibility and the nuances of involvement in criminal incidents under similar circumstances.
The Pimpri Police continue their investigation into the matter to ascertain further details and gather evidence related to the incident.
This development marks a crucial legal step in the ongoing case, ensuring that due process is followed while addressing the serious allegations against the parties involved.
