Union Home Minister Amit Shah has hailed Operation Sindoor as a landmark counter-terror success that not only dismantled multiple terror bases across the border but also exposed Pakistan’s deep involvement in cross-border terrorism. Speaking at the BSF Investiture Ceremony during the Rustamji Memorial Lecture, Amit Shah credited the mission to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political will, the precision of intelligence agencies, and the lethality of the Indian armed forces.

Operation Sindoor: A Coordinated Strike on Terror Camps

According to Amit Shah, the swift and decisive Operation Sindoor destroyed nine terrorist camps, including two key headquarters, in a matter of minutes. He underlined that the operation was carefully executed to avoid any damage to Pakistani military assets or airbases, focusing solely on terror infrastructure. Amit Shah said, “We only and only destroyed terrorist camps, those who committed crimes on our land.”

He also stated that Pakistan perceived the destruction of these camps as an attack on its sovereignty, prompting it to retaliate against Indian civilian and military assets. The Indian Army, Amit Shah noted, responded strongly and received global praise for its restraint and strategic precision.

Pakistan’s Direct Involvement Revealed

Amit Shah alleged that Pakistan’s cover in sponsoring terrorism was blown when senior officials of the Pakistani army were seen participating in the funerals of slain terror leaders. “When the funerals of these terrorists were held, senior officers of the Pakistan Army were not just present but also carried their coffins,” Amit Shah said, adding that this public involvement exposed Islamabad before the global community.

He recalled how for decades, India endured Pakistan-sponsored terrorism without delivering a decisive response. But with Operation Sindoor, India has shifted its posture, choosing to confront such threats head-on. Citing the tragic killings in Pahalgam, where innocent civilians were targeted based on their religion, Amit Shah emphasized the human cost of unchecked terrorism.

He concluded his address by honoring the bravery of over 2,000 Border Security Force personnel who sacrificed their lives between 1965 and 2025. Praising the BSF, Amit Shah said it is a testament to patriotism and resilience, calling it one of the finest forces in the world.
