New Delhi, 13 September: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday expressed his condolences for the lives lost due to a road accident in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
In a X (formerly Twitter) post, Union Minister Shah said, “The road accident involving a bus carrying devotees in Bharatpur (Rajasthan) is extremely sad. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones in this horrific accident on their irreparable loss and pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
PM Modi announces ex-gratia from PMNRF for victims of Bharatpur accident
Meanwhile, PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to those injured in the accident.
Taking to X, the PM’s Office informed, “The Prime Minister has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the mishap in Bharatpur.”
“The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each,” the PMO added.
At least 11 killed and 12 injured in a tragic accident
Meanwhile, the tragic accident, which occurred on the Jaipur-Agra Highway near Hantra in Bharatpur district, resulted in the loss of 11 lives and left 12 others injured. According to the police report, a trailer collided with the bus carrying pilgrims from Gujarat.
“The bus had come to a halt at the Antra flyover in the Lakhanpur area after running out of fuel when the truck collided with it from behind,” the police said.
“Originally, the bus was en route from Gujarat to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred around 4.30 am,” the police added.
