New Delhi, 28 August : After the success of the Moon mission, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the ‘Aditya-L1’ Sun Mission on September 2 to study the Sun. Sharing information on X, ISRO said that Aditya L-1 will be launched on September 2 at 11.50 am from Sriharikota. Aditya L. One is the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun.
Common citizens will also be able to see the launch of Aditya L1. ISRO has also invited the public to watch the launch from the launch view gallery at Sriharikota. For this, people can register at lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATIO.
‘Aditya-L1’ will be the first dedicated Indian space mission to observe the Sun, which will be launched by the space agency ISRO. The objective of the Aditya-L1 mission is to study the Sun from orbit around L1 (the Sun-Earth Lagrange point). This spacecraft will carry seven payloads. The spacecraft is designed for remote observation of the solar corona (outermost layers of the sun) and in situ observation of the solar wind at L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrange point). L1 is about 1.5 million kilometres away from Earth.
