Noida, March 29, 2026 | The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Noida Mahanagar unit, organised a sanitary napkin distribution drive under its “Ritumati Abhiyan” to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among women and female students.
The programme was conducted by the Rani Laxmibai Nagar unit with the objective of promoting awareness on menstrual health and addressing social taboos and misconceptions associated with menstruation.
Focus on Awareness and Health Education
During the event, participants were educated about the importance of menstrual hygiene, personal health, and cleanliness. Organisers highlighted the need to break societal stigma surrounding menstruation and encouraged open conversations on the subject.
Sanitary napkins were distributed to attendees as part of the initiative, ensuring that students not only received awareness but also access to essential hygiene products.
Emphasis on Social Change
Speaking on the occasion, Vedant, Sah Mantri of the Noida Mahanagar unit, emphasised the importance of awareness in building a progressive society.
“Awareness is the foundation of an empowered society, and such campaigns are essential for ensuring the health and dignity of women,” he said.
Collective Effort by Volunteers
The programme saw active participation from several ABVP volunteers and members of the local unit, who contributed to the successful organisation of the drive.
Organisers stated that initiatives like “Ritumati Abhiyan” are part of broader efforts to improve health awareness at the grassroots level and empower women through education and access to basic resources.
Promoting Menstrual Hygiene at the Community Level
The campaign reflects ongoing efforts by student organisations to address important public health issues and bring about behavioural change in society. By combining awareness with direct support, the initiative aims to make menstrual hygiene a normalised and openly discussed topic.
ABVP representatives expressed their commitment to continuing such campaigns in the future to reach more students and communities across the region.
