Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 16, 2026 — Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred the first installment of financial assistance to 90,000 beneficiaries across the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during a programme held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
The government transferred ₹900 crore directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries to support the construction of permanent houses for economically weaker and needy families.

Live Telecast of the State-Level Programme
In Gautam Buddh Nagar, a live telecast of the programme held in Lucknow was organised at the Collectorate premises.
During the district-level event, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh attended as the Chief Guest.
On the occasion, the MLA and the District Magistrate handed over approval letters for the first installment of ₹1 lakh each to selected beneficiaries of the district.

220 Beneficiaries Receive First Installment
Speaking during the programme, MLA Dhirendra Singh said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is an important welfare initiative aimed at providing safe and permanent housing to poor and needy families.
He added that the central and state governments are continuously working to ensure that development and welfare schemes reach the last person in society.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and stated that the financial assistance will play a significant role in helping them build their own homes.
District Administration Ensuring Transparent Implementation
Chairing the programme, the District Magistrate congratulated the beneficiaries and said that the district administration is ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the scheme in a transparent and time-bound manner.
He also stressed that construction of houses should be completed according to the prescribed standards.

Beneficiary Distribution Details
Deputy Collector and In-charge Project Officer Ved Prakash Pandey informed that 220 beneficiaries from Gautam Buddh Nagar received the first installment of ₹1 lakh each through DBT.
The beneficiaries include:
115 beneficiaries from Jewar Nagar Panchayat
58 beneficiaries from Rabupura Nagar Panchayat
18 beneficiaries from Bilaspur Nagar Panchayat
15 beneficiaries from Dankaur Nagar Panchayat
14 beneficiaries from Jahangirpur Nagar Panchayat

The programme was attended by Chief Development Officer Dr. Shivakant Dwivedi, In-charge City Magistrate Arvind Mishra, Alok Ranjan from the Cooperative Department, City Mission Manager Sheela Kumari, Civil Engineer Piyush Kumar, District Coordinator Akash Sharma, Community Organizer Ravindra Singh, along with other officials and beneficiaries.
