Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to enforce strict restrictions on high-volume DJs during Holi celebrations, alongside permanent noise control measures for loudspeakers at religious places. This move is aimed at maintaining public order and ensuring peaceful festivities across the state.
During a recent review meeting on development projects and law enforcement, Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to implement strict prohibitions on excessive noise levels during Holi. He emphasized the need for an organized and peaceful celebration, ensuring that no disturbances are caused due to high-decibel sound systems. The directive aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to curb noise pollution and uphold public decorum.
In addition to these directives, the Chief Minister has ordered the installation of CCTV cameras at critical locations such as banks and commercial establishments. This measure aims to enhance security and facilitate better monitoring of public spaces. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to strengthen their vigilance and ensure that security protocols are strictly adhered to.
Addressing concerns over cattle smuggling, Yogi Adityanath reinforced the state’s commitment to eradicating illegal cattle trade. He mandated strict action against those involved in smuggling, including smugglers, vehicle owners, and any police personnel found complicit. The Chief Minister directed ADG Zone Piyush Mordia to conduct district-level reviews to ensure the enforcement of the state’s complete ban on cattle smuggling.
The review meeting also focused on accelerating various development projects across the state. Yogi Adityanath warned against unnecessary delays and directed officials to appoint nodal officers for each under-construction project. These officers will be responsible for conducting weekly inspections and submitting progress reports. Officials were ordered to expedite work while maintaining high-quality standards to ensure timely completion.
With the onset of summer, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to guarantee an uninterrupted water supply throughout the state. In a move to support street vendors, he directed the creation of designated vending zones, allowing hawkers to operate legally and without obstruction.
Further, Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of social welfare initiatives, instructing officials to ensure the availability of affordable meals, free drinking water, and proper seating arrangements for farmers at all wheat procurement centers. The district administration confirmed that wheat procurement at the rate of ₹2,425 per quintal would commence on March 17 across 36 centers in the district.
Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the establishment of hostels and affordable canteens for working women, aiming to improve their working conditions and overall well-being.
Ahead of the Holi festivities, Yogi Adityanath has stressed the need for heightened security measures, particularly during ‘Holika Dahan’ and Holi celebrations. To further enhance public safety, he instructed officials to identify the top ten criminals from each police station across the state. This initiative aims to bolster law enforcement efforts and ensure a secure environment for residents.
With these directives, the Uttar Pradesh government is striving to maintain law and order while facilitating smooth festival celebrations, improving urban infrastructure, and enhancing public welfare.
