The choice filling and locking process for the West Bengal NEET UG 2024 has commenced, marking an important step in the admission procedure for MBBS courses. Candidates who have successfully registered for the counselling process are now required to visit the official NEET UG website to finalize their choices by August 29, 2024. The results for seat allotment in the first round are scheduled to be announced on September 2, 2024. Those who are allocated seats will need to report to their assigned institutes between September 3 and September 5, 2024, to complete the admission formalities.

The Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, is overseeing the NEET UG 2024 counselling process. Registration for the counselling began on August 21, 2024, for candidates who have cleared the NEET UG examination. This year’s counselling is structured into four rounds: round 1, round 2, round 3, and a stray vacancy round. Each round involves several key stages, including registration, fee payment, document verification, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, and reporting to the designated institute.

For the first round, the timeline is as follows: Online registration and fee payment are being conducted from August 21 to August 23, 2024. Candidates must complete their verification between August 22 and August 24, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm. A list of verified candidates and the seat matrix was released on August 27, 2024. Choice filling and locking will continue until August 29, 2024, with seat allotment results to be declared on September 2, 2024. Candidates who secure seats are required to report to their allotted institutes between September 3 and September 5, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The first round, the second round of counselling is set to begin on September 11, 2024. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NEET UG website for any updates and to ensure that all steps of the counselling process are completed within the designated deadlines to secure their admissions.
