Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani on Friday condemned the recent terror attack in the Union Terrority, saying such incidents kill humanity and peace. He stressed that the valley wants peace.

“Such incidents should not happen. We have been suffering this for the past 30-35 years. Such incidents kill humanity and our peace. The people of J&K have waited so long to participate in democracy. Now we want to see peace. The dual nature of security cannot work here…We hope that J&K’s status as a state is restored and a unified command fights against it (terrorism),” he said.

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah also condemned the ongoing terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and urged those responsible for it to stop and adopt the path of friendship.

Speaking to ANI, National Conference President Abdullah said, “This will keep going on in the state and it won’t stop until we find a proper solution for this. We all know from where it comes. I have been seeing it for 30 years – innocents are killed. We are not going to be part of Pakistan, so why are they doing this – to disrupt our future? They should look towards their country and the issues out there.”

“I appeal to them to stop all this and find a way of friendship and if they don’t do this, there will be problems. I apologise to the family of those who lost their lives and those who were injured,” he added.

Earlier today, security forces continued search operations in Baramulla following the firefight between the Indian Army and terrorists last night.

Two Indian Army soldiers and two civilian porters were killed after terrorists attacked a military vehicle in Baramulla. One soldier and one porter are injured and undergoing treatment, Indian Army officials said.

In an initial post on X, the Srinagar-based Chinar corps said, “A brief firefight took place between Indian Army and terrorists in general area Butapathri, Baramulla. During the firefight, two soldiers and two porters have suffered injuries and have been evacuated for medical care.”

In a subsequent update, the Chinar Corps said, “During the firefight, two soldiers and two porters have suffered injuries and have been evacuated for medical care. Operation in progress.”

On the same day (October 24), in another incident, terrorists shot at and injured a labourer in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district. The injured labourer was identified as Pritam Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Ganderbal district. (ANI)
