The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced an extension for the registration deadline of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. As per the official announcement made on March 5, 2024, candidates now have until March 6, 6:00 PM, to complete their registration process.
Eligible and interested candidates are encouraged to apply online at the official UPSC website – upsconline.nic.in.
The UPSC stated, “The last date for submission for CS(P)-IFoS(P)-2024 has been extended till 06-03-2024 (06:00 PM),” through its official website.
The preliminary examination for the UPSC CSE 2024 is scheduled to take place on May 26, 2024, while the mains exams are set to commence from September 20 and will span over five days.
This year, the Commission has notified 1,056 vacancies for the civil services exam, which is slightly lower than last year’s 1,105 vacancies. This decline follows the trend of 712 vacancies in 2021 and 796 in 2020.
It is pertinent to note that to be eligible for the UPSC CSE 2024 exam, candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be more than 32 years old as of August 1, 2024. Additionally, candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification as outlined by the UPSC.
