Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and Kalkaji Member of the Legislative Assembly Atishi has once again written to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta regarding the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, urging her to ensure that the Bharatiya Janata Party fulfills its commitment to women in the city. In her letter, Atishi reminded the chief minister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise, made during a rally in Dwarka on January 31, 2025, where he assured that each woman in Delhi would receive ₹2,500 per month under the scheme, starting from International Women’s Day on March 8.
With just a day left for Women’s Day, Atishi emphasized that the women of Delhi were eagerly waiting for the promised financial assistance to be credited to their accounts. She expressed hope that on March 8, women across Delhi would receive notifications on their mobile phones confirming the deposit of ₹2,500 in their bank accounts.
Atishi’s letter, written on behalf of millions of women in Delhi, directly addressed Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, reminding her of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment. She pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Dwarka rally, had assured that the very first cabinet meeting of the newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party government in Delhi would approve the scheme and that the money would start reaching women’s accounts from Women’s Day onwards.
Atishi further highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised all women to link their mobile numbers with their bank accounts to receive real-time updates when the funds are transferred. With the deadline now approaching, she stated that women in Delhi were anxiously waiting for the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government to fulfill its promise and expected the first installment of the ₹2,500 scheme to be credited on March 8 as promised.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has intensified its campaign, putting pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party to honor its commitment. The party has released a poster on its official platforms, reminding Bharatiya Janata Party leaders of their promise. The poster prominently features Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Virendra Sachdeva, Minister Parvesh Verma, and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari. The message on the poster states that only one day is left until March 8, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to uphold his guarantee and ensure that women in Delhi receive their promised ₹2,500.
With growing political pressure, all eyes are now on the Delhi government and the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership to see if they will deliver on their pre-election commitment, as Women’s Day marks the deadline set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
