Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 6 (ANI): Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday called the vision document of the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as an effort to hide its failures.

“In order to hide the failures of the state government, the Chief Minister took this step. The person who had responsibility for the growth and development of different sectors of Rajasthan, such as business, natural resources, employment opportunities, the education sector, industrialization, and strengthening the medical sector… After failing to strengthen these sectors, the Rajasthan government has now invited suggestions from these sectors. The 3.5 crore suggestions that the CM has mentioned in his speech–how realistic is that? …The government is completely bureaucracy-dependent…” Shekhawat said while addressing the media in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.

It is worth mentioning that Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Thursday launched the ‘vision document’ showcasing the government’s goal till 2030 if voted to power.

The move came ahead of the state assembly polls, scheduled to be held later this year.

In the ‘vision document’, the Gehlot government also touted the work done by it in the last five years.

Meanwhile, Shekhawat further attacked the government stating, “The people of Rajasthan now recognise the ‘vision’ of CM Ashok Gehlot. By praising itself through the document, the government tried to mislead the people of the state. If we talk about the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Rajasthan is not even on the list of top 10 states but Gehlot Sahab lied about it being at the top position”.

“By presenting the ‘vision document’, the Chief Minister tried to raise a ‘Hawa Mahal’. Rather, he should be accountable for what they have done in the past five years” he added.

Praising the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the centre, the Union Minister said, “…Prime Minister Modi had expressed that till 2024 we will make sure that drinking water reaches every house in the country… When the work was started, water used to reach only 16 per cent of houses…Despite COVID-19, today we have been successful in supplying drinking water to more than 10 crore families…Despite the highest budgetary allocation from the Ministry of Jal Shakti and by Prime Minister Modi, the Rajasthan government has been unsuccessful in availing this budget due to not adding any amount from its part.”

It is worth mentioning that Rajasthan is among the five states, going to polls later this year.

Earlier in the 2018 Rajasthan assembly polls, the Congress secured 100 seats.

However, it was short by a majority of one seat.

Later, it formed the government with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with Ashok Gehlot becoming the Chief Minister.

The BJP had won 73 seats. (ANI)
