A United Arab Emirates (UAE) aid convoy, consisting of 12 trucks, entered the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, delivering over 264 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including food, water, and dates. This effort is part of the UAE’s ongoing “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” aimed at supporting the Palestinian people amidst ongoing conflicts. The convoy passed through Egypt’s Rafah Crossing Point, as confirmed by the UAE state news agency WAM.
To date, the UAE’s contribution to Gaza has involved 440 trucks, transporting a total of 22,436 tonnes of aid. This extensive relief operation also includes aerial deliveries under the “Birds of Goodness” project, which has completed 43 drops, delivering 3,000 tonnes of supplies to isolated areas of Gaza.
In addition to food and water, the UAE has deployed significant medical resources to the region. The UAE’s field hospital in Gaza has treated over 18,970 patients since its inception. Further medical assistance is provided through the UAE’s Floating Hospital in Al-Arish Port, which has facilitated the evacuation of 152 patients for treatment, with an additional 166 being treated in the UAE.
Moreover, the UAE has established six desalination plants in Gaza, which collectively produce 1.2 million gallons of water per day, bolstering the local water supply amidst the humanitarian crisis.
This substantial aid initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people through various means of relief and infrastructure support.
