A late-night police encounter in Noida Sector 63 led to the arrest of two accused involved in the murder of a 20-year-old youth, while two juvenile offenders were also taken into custody during a combing operation. According to police officials, all four accused had been absconding after allegedly attacking and killing a young man identified as Deepak over a financial dispute.
The encounter took place on the FNG Road during a routine vehicle checking drive conducted by the police. Authorities stated that when officers attempted to stop the suspects, they tried to flee and allegedly opened fire on the police team, leading to retaliatory action.
Financial Dispute Turned Fatal
Police investigation revealed that Deepak, a resident of Chotpur Colony, had an ongoing monetary dispute with Aman and Piyush. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the accused attacked Deepak with a knife.
Local residents rushed the injured youth to a nearby hospital, where he underwent treatment for critical injuries. However, he later succumbed to his wounds. Following his death, police added murder charges to the case and intensified efforts to track down the accused.
The incident created tension in the locality, with residents demanding strict action against those involved in the killing.
Police Chase Led to Encounter on FNG Road
According to DCP Central Noida Shailendra Singh, a police team was conducting late-night vehicle checks in the Sector 63 area when four youths riding two motorcycles were spotted approaching the checkpoint. Officers signaled them to stop, but the suspects suddenly turned their motorcycles and attempted to escape.
Sensing suspicious activity, police teams chased the accused. During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly opened fire at the police personnel. In retaliatory firing, two accused identified as Aman and Sandeep sustained bullet injuries in their legs.
Both injured accused were immediately taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for treatment. Police officials stated that the area witnessed panic during the exchange of fire, but the situation was quickly brought under control.
Two Juveniles Detained During Combing Operation
Following the encounter, police launched a combing operation in nearby areas to trace the remaining suspects. During the search operation, two juvenile offenders were detained. Investigators believe they were also involved in the murder conspiracy and had been hiding since the incident took place.
Initial inquiry suggests that the injured accused are originally from Bulandshahr and were currently living in rented accommodation in Chotpur Colony. Police are now examining their criminal backgrounds and possible involvement in other offenses.
Weapons and Motorcycles Recovered
Police recovered three illegal country-made pistols, four live cartridges, two empty shells, a knife, and two motorcycles from the possession of the accused. Officials stated that the recovered weapons were allegedly used both in the murder and during the firing at police personnel.
Investigating agencies are now trying to determine the source of the illegal firearms and whether the accused were linked to any organized criminal activity. Police officials said all the accused acted together in planning and executing the attack on Deepak.
The incident has once again raised concerns regarding rising violent crimes and youth-related criminal activities in Noida. Authorities stated that intensified checking drives and surveillance operations will continue across the region to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.
