In a tragic incident early Friday morning, a truck collided with a mini-bus on the Ambala-Delhi-Jammu National Highway, resulting in the deaths of seven family members and injuring approximately 25 others.
The mini-bus was transporting around 30 pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, according to local police reports. The accident occurred while the passengers, all from the same family, were asleep.
A survivor recounted that the driver of the truck appeared to be intoxicated and fled the scene immediately after the collision. Emergency services rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment.
The authorities are investigating the incident, and efforts are underway to locate the absconding driver.
