New Delhi, 27 Aug : Today’s pro-poor policies at the center would help develop a vast middle-class population in a few years, driving India’s economic growth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated at the B20 Summit in Delhi today. PM Modi stated that more individuals are leaving poverty and entering India’s neo middle class, indicating that the government’s anti-poverty initiatives are effective.

Those who have risen out of poverty, the neo-middle class, are the largest consumers. They provide fresh goals and provide impetus to India’s progress. Whatever the government has done to help the poor, the middle class, or MSMEs, are the next to benefit.

By focusing on pro-poor measures now, you will see a large number of middle-class people in the next five to seven years, PM Modi stated during the occasion.

The rising purchasing power of the middle class benefits businesses. But if our attention is only on ourselves, I don’t think we’ll do ourselves or the world any good, Prime Minister Modi added.

He stated that a lucrative market can be preserved provided there is a balance between firms and consumers. It also applies to nations. Treating other nations purely on a commercial basis would eventually affect the producing countries. Making everyone equal partners in progress is the way forward, remarked the Prime Minister.

He made a compelling case for a focus on consumer care after requesting that global firms consider honoring International Consumer Care Day every year. India’s G20 presidency comes at a critical juncture in history, with a number of significant economic shifts taking place against a backdrop of geopolitical turmoil. The G20’s Business 20 (B20) group plays an important role in fostering dialogue among the worldwide business sector, G20 decision-makers, and governments. The B20 has issued 54 recommendations to the G20, as well as 172 policy actions.
