The incident, which took place in Rewa district, has sparked outrage and condemnation, with TMC leader Mamata Banerjee accusing the government of increasing atrocities against women. The local authorities have begun investigating the incident and have made initial arrests.

  • The police are searching for other accused individuals and have additional video evidence.
  • The women were discharged from the hospital and are in normal condition.
