New Delhi [India], July 2 (ANI): During a debate on the motion of thanks to President Droupadi Murmu’s address, Awadhesh Prasad, Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad on Tuesday expressed his disappointment over the absence of any mention of Ayodhya in her speech.

“I listened to and watched the President’s speech. I was very surprised that there was no mention of Ayodhya in her 29-page address,” Prasad said.

Prasad further highlighted the poor condition of the road leading to the Ram Temple in, stating that it feels like all the dirt in the world has accumulated in Ayodhya.

“Just the day before yesterday, I went to Ayodhya, and the entire road was filled with mud. Where our Prime Minister inaugurated a railway station named after Ayodhya six months ago, the boundary wall of that station has collapsed,” Prasad said.

“The most unfortunate aspect is that pilgrims have to walk one kilometer from the station to have a glimpse of Ram Lalla, and this one-kilometer stretch of road is so dirty that it feels like all the dirt in the world has accumulated in Ayodhya. It is a poor neighborhood for which 35 crores have been allocated for drainage, but no one knows where this money is going or how it is being spent,” he added.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh mentioned from his side that compensation has not been given to the poor either.

Earlier on June 27, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of both Houses of Parliament.

Meanwhile, Congress MP KC Venugopal launched a scathing attack on the NDA government for multiple infrastructure failures and said that under the BJP rule, “every building is under threat of collapsing.”

The Congress leader said, “Delhi Airport roof collapsed, Jabalpur Airport roof collapsed, Rajkot Airport canopy collapsed, conditions of roads in Ayodhya is bad, leakage in Ram Mandir, cracks in Mumbai Harbour link road, three new bridges collapsed in Bihar, Pragati Maidan tunnel submerged, all these constructions during the NDA period have collapsed. Under their rule, every building is under the threat of collapsing.”

The Congress leader also challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inquire about the alleged electoral bonds scam and said to put up an inquiry of the parliamentary committee to investigate the same. (ANI)
