RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has raised sharp concerns over a recent remark made by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, suggesting that the BJP aims to secure power in Bihar under the leadership of Samrat Choudhary, sidelining current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking from his constituency in Raghopur, Tejashwi Yadav urged the JD(U), Nitish Kumar’s party, to take serious note of the statement which, according to him, hinted at the BJP’s internal plans that are not yet publicly acknowledged.
Saini made the statement at a Delhi function while sharing the stage with Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. In a clip aired by news channels, Saini was heard saying the BJP’s victory in Haryana should continue in Bihar and expressed confidence in a win under Samrat Choudhary’s leadership. The remark has triggered political speculation about the BJP’s intentions for leadership in Bihar as the state heads into election season.
Tejashwi Yadav Accuses BJP of Undermining Nitish’s Authority
Tejashwi Yadav interpreted the remark as a clear signal that the BJP may not want Nitish Kumar to retain the CM post even if the alliance wins. He said the JD(U) is being reduced to a puppet within the NDA and that Nitish’s role has been limited to a symbolic presence, while actual decisions are being taken by BJP-aligned figures within the party.
He further alleged that JD(U)’s senior leaders like Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Sanjay Kumar Jha have completely aligned themselves with the BJP, allowing the saffron party to manipulate the regional party’s decisions. According to Tejashwi Yadav, this reflects a larger strategy by the BJP to take full control of Bihar’s leadership while using Nitish’s name to hold the alliance together during the elections.
JD(U) Defends Alliance, Dismisses Speculations
Responding to the controversy, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad dismissed Tejashwi Yadav’s claims, pointing out that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had already confirmed that Nitish Kumar would continue as Chief Minister. He said Saini’s comments were taken out of context and merely referred to the electoral support from communities like Saini and Kushwaha.
Prasad criticized attempts to interpret the statement as a sign of rift within the NDA and insisted that the alliance remains united ahead of the elections.
