According to official sources, Prajwal Revanna, a suspended JD(S) leader facing sexual abuse charges, has made arrangements to return to Bengaluru from Munich, with his flight scheduled to arrive on May 31 in the early hours.
Reports from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) indicate that the 33-year-old grandson of JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda, currently seeking re-election as the NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha segment, is expected to land at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda airport. The SIT has been deployed at the airport to apprehend him upon arrival.
Prajwal Revanna fled to a foreign country soon after the Karnataka State Commission for Women requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to initiate an investigation into allegations of sexual assault, following the emergence of explicit videos purportedly showing several women being abused, allegedly involving him. As per reports, two cases of sexual assault have been filed against him.
In a recent video message, the Hassan MP pledged to present himself before the SIT on May 31 and extend full cooperation during the inquiry, although he had previously postponed his return from Germany twice.
Meanwhile, the SIT conducted searches at Prajwal Revanna’s residence in the district headquarters town of Hassan, with the operation yielding some incriminating materials, as confirmed by sources familiar with the investigation.
