Amit Shah: Hindi is the language of unity in diversity, prosperity of all languages will benefit Hindi

Shah released a video message on the occasion of Hindi Day on Thursday and said that ‘Hindi’ is the name for unifying the diversity of languages in India, the world’s largest democracy. From the independence movement until today, Hindi has played an important role in uniting the country.

Shah said that with the prosperity of Hindi, all the languages of this country will prosper, and with the prosperity of all the languages of this country, Hindi itself will prosper. Hindi is from the original tradition of all those Indian languages, which originated on the soil of this country and blossomed and flourished here.

Shah said that Hindi has been a democratic language. It has respected different Indian languages and dialects, as well as many global languages, and adopted their vocabularies, terms, and grammar rules.

Amit Shah: Progress of Indian languages is root of all progress, we must take everyone along

The Home Minister said that the original and creative expression of any country can be truly expressed only in that country’s own language. He said that the famous litterateur Bharatendu Harishchandra has written that Nij bhasha unnati ahai, sab unnati kau mool, that is, the progress of one’s language is the root of all types of progress. All Indian languages and dialects are our cultural heritage. Whom do we have to take along?

Shah said that with a view to increasing the use of the official language in different areas of the country, a total of 528 city official language implementation committees have been formed so far. Even in foreign countries, Municipal Official Language Implementation Committees have been formed in London, Singapore, Fiji, Dubai, and Port-Louis. India has also taken initiatives to promote the use of Hindi in the United Nations.

The Home Minister said that a new tradition of ‘All India Official Language Conference’ has also been started by the Official Language Department. The first All India Official Language Conference was organised in Banaras on November 13–14, 2021, and the second All India Official Language Conference was organised in Surat on September 14, 2022. This year, the third All India Official Language Conference is being organised in Pune.
