London, 19 Aug : Lucy Letby, a British nurse was convicted on Friday for killing seven babies. The sentence for the brutal act will be announced on Monday. Lucy murdered seven babies and was preparing to kill another six at a hospital in northwest England, where she worked.
Indian-origin British surgeon Dr Ravi Jairam working at Countess of Chester Hospital played an important role in the case. This was one of the worst serial baby killings in England.
Lucy attacked 17 babies who had been in the ward. She poisoned some with insulin and injected air into the bloodstream or stomach or gave them excessive milk. Letby was first arrested in 2018 by the police. The case in the court was initiated in October 2022.
