New Delhi, March 25 : Indigo, the country’s leading air service provider, has decided to include 350 aircraft in its fleet by the end of 2024-25. The company has set a target of doubling its business and company size by the year 2030. It is being said that if the Indigo fleet is increased by an average of 14 percent on an annual basis, then only this target can be achieved.
Actually, Indigo is the largest shareholder in Indian air service provider companies. Indigo’s share in the aviation market is about 55 percent. To grow its business, IndiGo has prepared a road map to include 490 aircraft in its fleet by the end of this decade. Airbus XLR will also be included in these aircraft, which will make it easier for the company to enter the European aviation market.
Indigo anticipates that the competition will continue to intensify considering the pace at which the aviation sector is expanding in India. According to a survey conducted on the aviation market, by the end of 2024-25, Indigo can provide service to 100 million air passengers. IndiGo also intends to add 10 to 15 new destinations by 2024 as part of its expansion plan. Currently Indigo operates flights to 104 destinations. Of these, 78 are Indian destinations while Indigo operates flights to 26 foreign destinations.
