Sensex falls 342 points – Hindusthan Samachar English

New Delhi, 13 February : The stock market started flat on Monday, the first trading day of the week amid mixed global cues. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex slipped 341.93 points, or 0.56 percent, to trade at 60,340.77. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange (Nifty) is also trending at the level of 17,739.15 with a decline of 117.35 points i.e. 0.66 per cent.

Selling dominated the market in early trade. Adani Ports shares gained 2 per cent and IT sector shares are showing weakness. Infosys shares have registered a decline of up to two per cent, while metal sector shares are showing strength. However, the shares of Adani Enterprises are showing slight strength. Shares of Tata Steel, Titan, PowerGrid and L&T are trading with gains.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 stocks are trading in the green mark, while 9 stocks are trading in the red mark. M&M, Titan, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, SBI, and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top gainers, while HUL, Wipro, HDFC, HCLTech, HDFC Bank and TCS were among the top losers during the trade.

Apart from this, talking about global signals, there is selling in Asian markets. The Asian market has fallen by one per cent. Major indices in Asian markets including America and Europe are seen in red marks, while there are mixed signals from American markets as well. It is noteworthy that on the last trading day of the week, on Friday, the BSE Sensex fell 123.52 points to close at 60,682.70 and the Nifty slipped 36.95 points to close at 17856.50.
