In a significant diplomatic development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially welcomed the preliminary decision issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning the ongoing conflict in the besieged Gaza Strip. The decision is aimed at putting an immediate halt to any practices and statements with the potential for genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, expressed the Kingdom’s firm support for the International Court of Justice’s intervention in addressing the critical situation in Gaza. The ministry categorically rejects the practices of the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the blatant violations of the United Nations Convention on Genocide.

The official statement further lauded the proactive efforts of the Republic of South Africa in initiating legal proceedings against the continuous violations perpetrated by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip. The ministry underscored the importance of these legal actions, highlighting the need for the international community to take decisive measures towards achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. The emphasis was on providing robust protection to the Palestinian people who have borne the brunt of the conflict and ensuring accountability for the systematic violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces against international law and humanitarian principles.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, applauds the ICJ’s role in addressing the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The decision reflects a global commitment to curbing actions that could escalate into genocide, safeguarding the lives and rights of the vulnerable Palestinian population.

The ministry’s support for the ICJ’s decision aligns with the broader international community’s call for justice and accountability in the face of the ongoing conflict. By rejecting South Africa’s claim, Saudi Arabia underscores its dedication to a just resolution that upholds international law.

As tensions persist in the Gaza Strip, the Kingdom urges the international community to escalate efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire. This includes prioritizing the safety and well-being of the Palestinian people while holding the Israeli occupation forces accountable for their actions. The ministry’s statement serves as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution in the region, advocating for the protection of human rights and adherence to international legal frameworks.
