Saudi Arabia is set to host the inaugural round of the UIM E1 World Championship, an all-electric race-boat competition. The President of the Saudi Water Sports & Diving Federation (SWSDF), Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman, highlighted the alignment of this event with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals and the leadership’s aspirations for renewable energy and electric transportation.
Prince Sultan made these remarks during a press conference held to discuss the upcoming UIM E1 World Championship, which is scheduled to commence in Jeddah on Friday. Notably, this electric boat championship marks a significant milestone as it is the first major international sports competition to feature equal participation from both men and women.
Expressing his pleasure at SWSDF’s integral role in the UIM E1 World Championship, Prince Sultan emphasized that the Saudi team’s involvement in this competition is part of a strategic partnership with Aoki Racing. He further added, the tournament aims at proving the Saudi youth’s ability to participate in key international tournaments.
