What is Ayyappa Deeksha?

Ayyappa Deeksha is a 41-day spiritual journey undertaken by devotees of Lord Ayyappan, a Hindu deity worshipped in Kerala, India. The Deeksha is a period of austerity and self-discipline, during which devotees abstain from meat, alcohol, tobacco, and other vices. They also observe celibacy, wear only black clothing, and walk barefoot.

The Deeksha begins with the donning of the Ayyappa mala, a sacred garland of beads that symbolizes the devotee’s commitment to the journey. The mala is usually given to the devotee by a guru or spiritual guide.

During the Deeksha, devotees participate in a variety of religious activities, including prayers, meditation, and fasting. They also visit temples and other holy sites. The Deeksha culminates in a pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple, where devotees offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappan.

Ayyappa Deeksha is a challenging but rewarding experience that can help devotees to achieve spiritual enlightenment. It is a time for reflection, introspection, and renewal.

Attire of Ram Charan

Throughout this duration, Ram Charan committed to adhere to rigorous rules and guidelines, which encompassed wearing solely a black kurta and the Ayyappa Mala.

Ram Charan, attired in his Deeksha clothing and moving barefoot, generated great fan excitement as he proceeded to the Siddhivinayak Temple.

The Siddhivinayak Temple holds a distinctive significance in the hearts of devotees, and for Ram Charan, it was the ideal place to complete his Ayyappa Deeksha.

Ram Charan’s Dedication to Ayyappa Deeksha, Even During RRR

It’s important to highlight that Ram Charan has a track record of observing Ayyappa Deeksha, including during the filming of RRR. His ability to harmonize his professional responsibilities with his spiritual endeavors is genuinely praiseworthy.
