Dausa (Rajasthan) [India], November 13 (ANI): In the midst of the ongoing bypolls for an assembly seat of Dausa in Rajasthan, a bride reached the polling station to cast her vote in for the Dausa Assembly by-election.

Speaking to ANI, the bride, Khushi said that she reached the polling station to cast her vote before the conduct of the farewell rituals of her wedding ceremony.

“Yesterday my wedding ceremony took place and today before the farewell rituals I have come to cast my vote. Voting is very important and everyone should vote…” she said.

Earlier, Congress MP from Dausa, Murari Lal Meena also cast his vote in by-polls.

He said, “The trend is in favour of Congress, we will win. We have worked for the people during our tenure… People are unhappy with this 11-month tenure of BJP.”

Notably, Congress has fielded Deendayal Bairwa from the Dausa assembly seat while the BJP candidate is Jagmohan Meena.

Voting for the bye-assembly elections in Rajasthan began on Wednesday at 7 am.

The by-polls in Rajasthan on seven seats including Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinwsar, Chorasi, Salumbar and Ramgarh are underway with results to be declared on November 20. The by-polls on these seven seats were necessitated after two MLAs died and five others were elected to the Lok Sabha.

Notably, of these seven seats, five were held by the Congress and its allies (Bharat Adivasi Party-one), while the BJP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) held one each.

The BJP has 114 MLAs in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly, the Congress has 65, the Bharat Adivasi Party three, the Bahujan Samaj Party two, one Rashtriya Lok Dal and eight independents.
