In a gesture of solidarity and support, two Qatar Armed Forces aircraft touched down at Port Sudan Airport, laden with vital pharmaceutical supplies destined for the Sudanese people. This humanitarian endeavor, is being facilitated by the Qatar Fund For Development, amidst a protracted humanitarian crisis exacerbated by continued conflict.
The arrival of the aid was met with the presence of of Federal Minister of Health in Sudan, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Governor of the Red Sea of Sudan, Mustafa Mohammed Nour, and Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan, Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sada.
Ambassador Al Sada reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast support for Sudan, emphasizing the nation’s principled stance in safeguarding Sudan’s security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Sudanese government, Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim commended Qatar for its consistent relief efforts, particularly amidst the recent waves of displacement and turmoil. The timely arrival of pharmaceutical aid serves as a beacon of hope for countless Sudanese grappling with the challenges of conflict-induced displacement.
Governor Mustafa Mohammed Nour echoed these sentiments, extending heartfelt appreciation to Qatar for its successive contributions, which have played a pivotal role in alleviating the suffering of those affected by the crisis. Highlighting the significance of Qatar’s air bridge initiative, Governor Nour emphasized the profound impact of the aid on the lives of Sudanese citizens, who have received it with profound gratitude.
