Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins a two-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir today, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 84 major development projects valued at over Rs 1,500 crore. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to the region’s development and youth empowerment.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate projects related to road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education infrastructure.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for projects such as the improvement of the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section, development of industrial estates, and construction of six government degree colleges.
A significant highlight of the visit is the launch of the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project worth Rs 1,800 crore. This ambitious project will be implemented in 90 blocks across 20 districts, aiming to reach 300,000 households and benefit 1.5 million people.
At 6 PM today, the Prime Minister will participate in the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The event aims to showcase progress and inspire young achievers in the region.
PM Modi will inspect stalls and interact with young achievers, and distribute appointment letters to over 2,000 newly appointed government employees.
