Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his marathon campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 with a meditation session in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. This marked the culmination of a whirlwind tour that began on March 15 from the same location.
During the campaign season, PM Modi undertook an astonishing 180 election campaign events, including rallies and road shows. With an average of over three events per day, PM Modi covered every corner of the country, showcasing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign strategy.
In May alone, the Prime Minister intensified his efforts, conducting 96 events across the country. Four states emerged as the focal points of his campaign, contributing to over half of all his public appearances. Uttar Pradesh, with 31 events, led the tally, followed by Bihar (20 events), Maharashtra (19 events), and West Bengal (18 events). These states are crucial for the BJP’s electoral strategy, aiming to consolidate and increase its seats in the Lok Sabha.
Notably, PM Modi directed significant attention to South India, where the BJP anticipates a breakthrough. With 35 events spread across Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi aimed to capitalize on potential anti-incumbency sentiments and expand the BJP’s footprint in the region.
Other states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand received considerable focus, reflecting the BJP’s efforts to challenge regional incumbents and strengthen its presence. Additionally, PM Modi conducted rallies in his home state of Gujarat, as well as in Punjab, Haryana, and other key states.
Overall, PM Modi’s extensive campaign underscored the BJP’s commitment to nationwide outreach and its determination to secure a strong mandate in the Lok Sabha elections.
