Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while on a two-day official visit to Bhutan, delivered a solemn message of determination and grief following the deadly blast in Delhi that killed 13 people and injured 21 others. Addressing a gathering in Bhutan’s capital Thimphu, PM Modi assured that those behind the tragic attack would be brought to justice, asserting that India’s investigative agencies were fully committed to uncovering the conspiracy and punishing every individual involved. The Prime Minister’s remarks came amid ongoing investigations that have linked the explosion to a Kashmir-based doctor allegedly connected to a larger terror network involved in a recent seizure of explosives in Haryana’s Faridabad district.

The devastating incident, which took place near the iconic Red Fort on Monday evening, has left the nation in shock. As details continue to emerge, the attack has underscored the persistent threat of terrorism and the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in preventing such acts. PM Modi, speaking both as a leader and as a representative of the collective sentiment of the nation, said that India would not rest until justice was served for the victims of this horrific tragedy.

PM Modi Addresses the Nation’s Grief from Bhutan

Standing before an audience gathered to celebrate the 70th birth anniversary of Bhutan’s former King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, PM Modi’s words carried a heavy emotional weight. “Today, I have come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident in Delhi yesterday evening has left all of us deeply distressed,” he said, speaking in Hindi to an audience that included Bhutanese dignitaries, monks, and Indian officials. He emphasized that despite being physically in Bhutan, his mind remained with the families of those who lost their lives in Delhi.

PM Modi noted that he had spent much of the previous night coordinating with officials in Delhi to ensure that the investigation proceeded swiftly and effectively. His presence in Bhutan, he said, symbolized India’s enduring commitment to its close friendship with Bhutan even amid national grief.

“I understand the sorrow of the affected families. Today, the whole country stands united with them,” PM Modi said, his tone reflecting both empathy and resolve. Switching briefly to English, he added, “All those responsible will be brought to justice.”

The prime minister’s comments were made during a grand ceremony at Thimphu’s Changlimethang Stadium, which had been decorated for the occasion. The event was attended by Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, members of the royal family, and thousands of citizens. In a gesture of solidarity, King Jigme Khesar later led a mass prayer for the victims of the Delhi blast, underscoring the deep cultural and emotional ties between the two nations.

Investigation Links Blast to Kashmir-Based Doctor

Back in India, investigators are working tirelessly to trace the origins of the explosion that occurred near the Red Fort — one of Delhi’s most iconic landmarks and a symbol of India’s national identity. Preliminary reports suggest that the car involved, a white Hyundai i20, was registered to a doctor from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, identified as Umar un-Nabi. According to Delhi Police officials, Umar was likely behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the explosion, which occurred after the car slowed at a red light.

The blast’s intensity was so severe that it damaged several nearby vehicles and caused chaos in one of Delhi’s busiest areas. Authorities have confirmed that 13 people were killed and at least 21 others sustained injuries. The police have since cordoned off the area and launched a multi-agency investigation involving the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi Police’s Special Cell, and intelligence units.

Officials have revealed that Umar un-Nabi was allegedly part of a network of radicalized medical professionals from Kashmir who maintained links with terror outfits operating from Pakistan. Two other doctors from the region were recently arrested in connection with the seizure of approximately 2,900 kilograms of explosive material in Faridabad. This connection, investigators say, could provide crucial insights into the planning and execution of the Delhi attack.

While authorities have yet to attribute the explosion to a specific terrorist group, the scale of the incident and the use of a civilian vehicle suggest a level of coordination that points to an organized cell rather than a lone wolf operation. The forensic examination of the debris is ongoing, with samples being analyzed to determine the precise nature of the explosive used.

PM Modi’s Message of Strength and India-Bhutan Solidarity

Despite the gravity of the situation back home, PM Modi chose to continue with his Bhutan visit, which had been scheduled well in advance to mark the special occasion of the former king’s 70th birth anniversary. Sources familiar with the matter said that there had been initial discussions about postponing the trip, but the Prime Minister decided to proceed, viewing it as a symbol of India’s resilience and commitment to its regional partnerships.

During his address, PM Modi referred to the event as “an important day for all who believe in world peace.” His words served as both a reassurance to the international community and a reaffirmation of India’s enduring diplomatic principles, even amid tragedy. “This day reflects the strength of the India-Bhutan relationship,” he said, praising the deep friendship between the two countries, built on trust, mutual respect, and shared cultural values.

The Prime Minister’s visit also carried a symbolic dimension — reinforcing India’s message that terrorism, no matter where it occurs, cannot deter the nation’s commitment to peace and cooperation. Bhutan, a long-standing ally and strategic partner of India, stood in full solidarity, with the Bhutanese King leading prayers for the victims and expressing condolences on behalf of the people of Bhutan. The sight of thousands of Bhutanese citizens joining hands in prayer for Delhi’s victims became one of the most poignant images of the day.

Coordinated Efforts Underway to Bring Conspirators to Justice

Back in New Delhi, multiple agencies are pursuing leads to uncover the larger network that may have facilitated the attack. Investigators are focusing on digital communication records, financial transactions, and vehicle movement data to piece together a timeline of events leading to the explosion. The white Hyundai i20, now reduced to a mangled shell, is undergoing forensic testing to determine the triggering mechanism of the blast.

Preliminary intelligence inputs suggest that the explosives might have been similar in composition to those seized in Faridabad last month — a discovery that could potentially connect the two incidents. Officials are also probing whether the Delhi blast was intended to coincide with a larger plot or if it was a test run by a sleeper cell.

According to sources within the Delhi Police, the suspect Umar un-Nabi had maintained a façade of a respected medical practitioner while secretly aiding terror operatives. His double life as a doctor and alleged extremist has raised alarm among intelligence officials, highlighting a worrying trend of radicalization among educated professionals. Investigators are now examining whether any foreign handlers or cross-border networks were involved in the planning of the attack.

In the aftermath of the explosion, security across the capital has been intensified, with checkpoints established near key government buildings, public transport hubs, and major roads. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has urged citizens to remain calm but vigilant, assuring that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

A Nation United in Mourning and Resolve

As the investigation progresses, the mood in India remains somber. Political leaders across party lines have condemned the attack and extended condolences to the families of the victims. Citizens have gathered at candlelight vigils near India Gate and other public spaces, expressing solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.

PM Modi’s statement from Bhutan has served as a rallying call for unity and perseverance. His message — that the conspirators “will not be spared” — has resonated widely, reflecting the collective determination of a nation unwilling to bow to terror. The Prime Minister’s emotional address, combined with the swift response of law enforcement agencies, has reinforced the government’s stance that any attempt to destabilize peace will be met with decisive action.

As India mourns the lives lost in the Delhi blast, it also reaffirms its commitment to the principles of justice, peace, and resilience. From the heart of Bhutan to the streets of Delhi, the message remains clear — the fight against terror continues, and those who seek to harm innocent lives will face the full weight of the nation’s resolve.
