Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a day-long visit to Varanasi on 23rd September 2023.
During this eventful visit, PM Modi will first lay the foundation stone of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi, scheduled for around 1:30 PM. The construction of this modern international cricket stadium aligns with the vision of enhancing world-class sports infrastructure in the country and will span over 30 acres, with an estimated cost of about Rs 450 crores.
“The thematic architecture of this stadium draws inspiration from Lord Shiva, incorporating designs such as crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped floodlights, seating resembling ghat steps, and metallic sheets on the facade shaped like Bilvapatra. The stadium is designed to accommodate 30,000 spectators,” informed the PMO.
Following the foundation stone laying ceremony of the cricket stadium, PM Modi will proceed to the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre to participate in the closing ceremony of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023.
It’s worth noting that Prime Minister Modi’s vision to enrich the cultural vibrancy of Kashi has given rise to the conceptualization of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav.
During the cultural program, PM Modi will inaugurate 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas established across Uttar Pradesh. These schools, constructed at a cost of about Rs 1115 crores, aimed at improving access to quality education. Specifically, these schools have been established exclusively for children of laborers, construction workers, and orphans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on providing quality education and aiding in the holistic development of the children.
Each school is built on an area of 10-15 acres and is equipped with classrooms, sports grounds, recreational areas, a mini auditorium, a hostel complex, mess facilities, and residential flats for staff. The objective is for these residential schools to ultimately house 1000 students each.
