Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on December 13. During this visit, the Prime Minister will inspect the ongoing major development works under preparations for the Mahakumbh 2025 and inaugurate several important projects worth over ₹6,670 crore. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi will perform prayers at the Sangam (confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers). He will pray near the Akshay Vat tree and also visit the Hanuman temple and Saraswati Kupa. Afterward, the Prime Minister will visit the Mahakumbh exhibition site and launch various development projects.
In line with preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, the projects that PM Modi will inaugurate include plans to strengthen infrastructure. These projects include the construction of 10 new Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and flyovers, permanent ghats, riverfront roads, and Clean Ganga projects. These initiatives will help prevent untreated water from flowing into the Ganga River and maintain the cleanliness of the river.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate major temple corridors to promote religious and spiritual tourism, including the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor and the Shrungverpur Dham Corridor. The construction of these corridors will make it easier for devotees to reach the temples. Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate projects related to drinking water and electricity.
To enhance the Mahakumbh fair, the Prime Minister will also launch the Kumbh Assistant Chatbot. This chatbot will provide pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh with detailed information about the fair’s programs, facilities, and arrangements. Through this, devotees will be able to make their journey more convenient and enhance their experience.
This visit by the Prime Minister is considered highly significant for the preparations of Mahakumbh 2025. These projects are expected to strengthen the infrastructure and spiritual heritage of Prayagraj, as well as give a new momentum to regional development.
