Nagpur, 11 Sept : Anurag Thakur, union minister, stated on Monday that efforts were being made to insult Sanatan Dharma and chastised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for being mute on the issue.
BJP leader Kapil Mishra accuses DMK leaders of insulting Sanatan Dharma
The statements by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader came during a political squabble after DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin accused Sanatan Dharma for spreading division and prejudice among people and stated it should be destroyed.
In addition, DMK leader A Raja compared Sanatan Dharma to socially stigmatized diseases like as leprosy and HIV. In response to a reporter’s question on Rahul Gandhi’s claim that he has read the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita and that the BJP does nothing Hindu, Thakur stated, opposition should break its silence on insults to Sanatan Dharma.
The opposition is limited to disparaging Sanatan Dharma. This demonstrates their attitude, and their efforts to denigrate the Sanatan Dharma continue, the minister added. When asked about Rahul Gandhi’s remarks regarding India vs Bharat, Thakur said certain people had a history of spreading fear, confusion, and telling lies. They’ve been doing it their entire lives, he noted.
Uddhav Thackeray’s remark on Godhra-like incident sparks controversy
In response to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray’s remark that a Godhra-like incident may occur following the opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Thakur argued that certain individuals had forsaken their beliefs in pursuit of power.
I’m not sure what Balasaheb (late Shiv Sena founder and Uddhav Thackeray’s father) would think today, or what Uddhav ji is doing today for power. When so much was said about Sanatan Dharma, Rahul ji and Uddhav ji remained silent, Thakur remarked. Thackeray stated on Sunday that a Godhra-like incident may occur on the return journey of a huge number of people anticipated to arrive in Ayodhya from across the country for the Ram Temple’s opening.
The temple is expected to be dedicated in January 2024, ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.
