Dehradun, 13 September: The Meteorological Department has once again warned of rain in its five-day forecast. The districts for which a yellow alert has been issued include Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almod, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar.
Meteorological Department Director Dr. Bikram Singh has said in the warning that all these districts are on yellow alert from September 13 to September 17. The Meteorological Department has said in its warning that until September 17, the period of intense rainfall along with thunder and lightning will continue at some places.
Highways may be blocked due to landslides
Whereas in some sensitive areas, highways may be blocked due to minor landslides and the falling of rocks. Also, there will be a situation of waterlogging in low-lying areas. The Meteorological Department has warned people living near small rivers and streams to be careful and asked them to take shelter in safe places during lightning. Do not go under trees.
