History

The Omkareshwar Temple is an ancient temple, and its origins can be traced back to the 8th century AD. The temple was built by the Hindu king Raja Bhoj. It is said that the temple was originally built on an island in the Mandakini River, but over time, the river has changed its course, and the temple is now situated on the mainland.

Prasadam

The prasadam at the Omkareshwar Temple is a simple but delicious dish of rice and lentils. It is served to all devotees who visit the temple. The Prasad is said to be blessed by Lord Shiva

The Omkareshwar Temple is located in the town of Omkareshwar, which is about 75 kilometers from Indore, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The temple is situated on the bank of the Mandakini River, which is considered to be a holy river by Hindus.

Puja Timing

The Omkareshwar Temple is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The temple is open for darshan (viewing the idol of Lord Shiva) throughout the day. The temple is also open for performing puja (worship) at specific times of the day.

The Omkareshwar Temple can be reached by road, rail, or air. The nearest airport is Indore Airport, which is about 75 kilometers from the temple. The nearest railway station is Omkareshwar Railway Station, which is about 2 kilometers from the temple.

In addition to visiting the Omkareshwar Temple, there are many other things to do in Omkareshwar. Visitors can take a boat ride on the Mandakini River, visit the nearby Omkareshwar Dam, or go for a hike in the surrounding hills.
