As per Hindu tradition, performing rituals on Chaitra Purnima enhances spiritual well-being and invites abundance into one’s life. A significant part of these observances includes the recitation of the Vishnu Chalisa, a devotional hymn that glorifies the virtues and divine deeds of Lord Vishnu.

Devotees believe that chanting the Vishnu Chalisa with sincerity and devotion brings happiness, removes fear, and grants liberation from suffering. Therefore, worshipping Lord Vishnu on this day, accompanied by the recitation of the Chalisa, is considered spiritually fulfilling.

Acts of Charity on Chaitra Purnima

Charity is an essential part of Chaitra Purnima rituals. It is believed that donating items such as clothes, food, water, and money on this day yields great merit. These acts are said to attract wealth, boost business success, and help in achieving a balanced and content life.

Vishnu Chalisa

The Vishnu Chalisa, a forty-verse devotional hymn, praises the virtues, incarnations, and divine leelas (acts) of Lord Vishnu. It begins with a doha (introductory couplet), followed by verses that recount His various avatars such as Rama, Narasimha, Vamana, and Krishna, and highlight His role in upholding dharma across ages.

Devotees who recite the Chalisa are believed to receive divine protection, inner strength, and blessings for a prosperous life. The Chalisa also reminds devotees of the power of devotion and righteousness, making it a vital element of Chaitra Purnima puja.

Engaging in these practices with devotion on Chaitra Purnima can usher in peace, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment, making the observance truly complete.
