Noida, December 22, 2025:
As part of its sustained efforts to improve urban cleanliness and secure a top ranking in the national Swachh Survekshan, the Noida Authority on Monday intensified ground-level inspections and enforcement actions against violations of waste management and plastic ban norms across several sectors of the city.
Officials stated that the Noida Authority participates in the Swachh Survekshan every year and has been undertaking multiple initiatives to make the city cleaner, more organised, and environmentally sustainable. Regular inspections are being carried out at the grassroots level, and strict action is being taken against establishments found violating prescribed rules and regulations.
In this sequence, a joint inspection drive was conducted on December 22 under the leadership of Indu Prakash Singh (Public Health) and Gaurav Bansal, Project Engineer (Public Health-1). During the inspection in Sector-8, officials visited a cloud kitchen operating at Plot A-37 under the name M/s KIC Food Products Pvt. Ltd. The inspection revealed that the cloud kitchen was using single-use plastic for packaging and related activities, in violation of existing plastic ban guidelines. As a result, approximately 300 kilograms of single-use plastic material was seized from the premises.
Following this action, the inspection team proceeded to Sector-4, where Blink Commerce Pvt. Ltd. (Blinkit) operates from the ground floor of Plot No. 09, A-Block. During the inspection, officials found several serious shortcomings. It was observed that waste was being dumped directly on the road and garbage was being openly burnt, posing environmental and public health hazards. Considering these violations and non-compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, the Noida Authority imposed a financial penalty of ₹1,00,000 on Blink Commerce Pvt. Ltd.

Officials issued strict instructions to the company to ensure full compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules. They warned that failure to adhere to the prescribed norms in the future would invite further penal action as per applicable regulations.
In addition to inspections, the Noida Authority also conducted focused anti-plastic drives in local markets to raise awareness and curb the use of banned plastic items. In Sector-11, H-Block Market, an anti-plastic drive was carried out during which shopkeepers and members of the public were encouraged to avoid the use of single-use plastic. During the drive, around 15 kilograms of single-use plastic was seized from shops including Delhi Chaat Bhandar, Standard Sweets, and Annapurna Rasoi, which were found using prohibited plastic materials.
A similar anti-plastic drive was later conducted in Sector-11, X-Block Market. During this अभियान, officials confiscated approximately 30 kilograms of single-use plastic from shopkeepers who were found violating the ban. The traders were also issued warnings and informed that the use of single-use plastic in the Noida area attracts financial penalties and strict enforcement action under prevailing rules.
The inspection and awareness drives were supported by representatives from civil society organisations. Abhigyanam, IEC Expert, and Suraj Singh, Division Incharge from Guided Fortune Society, along with other members of the NGO, were present during the inspections and anti-plastic campaigns. They assisted officials in sensitising shopkeepers and the general public about the harmful environmental impact of plastic waste and the importance of adopting sustainable alternatives.
Officials from the Noida Authority reiterated that such inspections and enforcement actions will continue in the coming days as part of a comprehensive strategy to improve cleanliness standards across the city. They emphasised that achieving a top rank in Swachh Survekshan requires collective responsibility from commercial establishments, vendors, residents, and enforcement agencies alike.
The Authority further stated that while awareness campaigns play an important role, strict action against violators is equally necessary to ensure compliance with environmental norms. By combining inspections, penalties, and public outreach, the Noida Authority aims to discourage illegal waste disposal practices, eliminate the use of single-use plastic, and promote responsible waste management behaviour.
The Noida Authority reaffirmed its commitment to making the city cleaner, greener, and more livable, and urged all businesses and citizens to cooperate by following Solid Waste Management Rules and plastic ban guidelines in letter and spirit.
